Comver

See what shoppers actually did — then act on what stopped them

Behaviour records every storefront visit — clicks, scroll depth, add to cart, cart opened, checkout clicked, rage clicks — scores each session for intent, resolves it to the person behind it and shows you the page heatmap, the replay and the funnel step where it stopped. From any session: create a segment, a journey, an experience or an A/B test in one click.

Intent-scored sessions

Every session, scored for intent and resolved to the person behind it

Behaviour lists every tracked storefront session, newest first, with a 0–100 intent score you can read line by line — product views, dwell time, cart opened, added to cart, checkout started, known identity, rage clicks. The Unified Segments engine matches each session to a synchronised customer record where it genuinely can, and attaches consent-aware contactability, orders and lifetime value. Anonymous stays anonymous: unknowns read “unknown”, never a guess.

  • Filter by identity, intent, traffic source, device, country, outcome and conversion — or search a visitor, product or page
  • Open any row for the full session: identity evidence, this session’s own heatmap, the Copilot summary, detected friction and the event timeline
  • Live visitors (active in the last 15 minutes), sessions, average engagement and high-intent share at a glance across the last 30 days

Page heatmaps

Where they click, how far they scroll — on your real page

One click captures a real screenshot of any tracked page; Behaviour draws click density and scroll depth over it, per device. Compare all visitors with high-intent visitors, converters or the previous period, read the plain-language key difference, and turn it into a prefilled A/B test.

Click density on the page as shoppers see it

Dots sized and coloured by intensity over a captured screenshot; hover shows the count, the element text and its CSS selector. “Top clicked elements” lists them with a CTA badge — so you know whether the hottest thing on the page is the button you wanted.

Session replays

Watch the session — with the friction named

Behaviour captures a sample of sessions as privacy-safe replays: a sanitised snapshot of the page plus pointer, click, scroll and resize events. Every replay opens beside a session brief — intent (low / medium / high), clicks, scroll events, pages, outcome, the strongest friction and the recommended next step — grounded in that recording, and labelled honestly as AI analysis or evidence-based rule analysis.

  • Scripts, iframes and inline handlers removed; every input, textarea and select value blanked before the snapshot leaves the browser
  • On by default with a daily cap of 50 sessions (adjustable 0–1,000) and 30-day retention (1–365 days per store) — settings that live in Comver, not in the theme
  • Known customers labelled from their storefront login; anonymous visitors stay anonymous

Strongest friction

Cart hesitation before checkout — the drawer opened twice without a checkout click.

Reassure about delivery and returns at the cart step; activate an onsite Callio message while product interest is still high.

Funnels & customer journeys

Where sessions stop — measured live from your own events

The Default Shopify Funnel counts sessions from product view to checkout click and names the biggest drop-off. Customer journeys follow each real path from landing page to checkout — and open the same session drawer, so behind every percentage there is a person.

Four steps, one biggest drop-off, one prefilled experiment

Product view → Add to cart → Cart opened → Checkout clicked with sessions, conversion from the previous step and drop-off per step, filtered by device and period. A warning card names the step where you lose the most sessions and “Create experiment” opens an A/B test aimed at it. Checkout clicked is the last measured step — orders and revenue live in Customers and Callio.

Add-to-cart sits at 11.2% and fewer than half of product-page visitors reach the reviews. Proof is arriving after the decision point — move one review line and the delivery promise next to the price, then test it.

What the embed records

Every event, named — and only what you switched on

One theme app embed, “Comver Behaviour”, with clicks, scroll depth and form interactions as individual switches. Batches leave the browser every five seconds or 25 events, best-effort — a failure is swallowed so the storefront and checkout always keep working.

Page, product & collection views

Page type, referrer and UTM parameters, device and viewport; product id, title and price on product pages.

Clicks

Position as a share of the page, element tag, text (up to 80 characters), selector and role — and whether it was a CTA.

Scroll depth

Maximum depth reached per page, recorded when the tab is hidden or the page is left.

Add to cart

Intercepts /cart/add calls and native form posts: variant, product, quantity and price.

Cart opened & updated

Cart drawer opens and quantity changes, taken from the theme’s own cart events.

Checkout clicked

The checkout control by name, link or label — “Checkout”, “Go to checkout”, “Przejdź do kasy”. The last measured step.

Rage clicks

Three or more clicks within 600 ms in a ~40 px radius, with the element they landed on.

Form submits — no values

Form id, name and action only, never what was typed. Revenue-module events arrive with their module key and cart delta.

Privacy-safe by construction

Track the behaviour, not the person’s secrets

The storefront script never reads what a shopper types. Replays are sanitised before they leave the browser. The server keeps coarse location and a salted hash — never the raw IP — and a daily purge enforces retention: 30 days for recordings by default, 90 for events.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No. Enable the “Comver Behaviour” app embed in the Shopify theme editor — the empty states in Behaviour link you straight there. Clicks, scroll depth, form interactions and A/B testing are individual checkboxes, and data appears within a minute of the first visit.

Page, product and collection views; clicks (position, element text and selector, whether it is a CTA); maximum scroll depth; add to cart, cart opened and updated, checkout clicked; form submits (id, name and action only); rage clicks (three or more clicks in 600 ms within about 40 px). Plus device, viewport, referrer and UTM parameters, and events from Comver revenue modules with their module key.

Form tracking records only that a form was submitted, never field values. Session replays are sanitised DOM snapshots — scripts, iframes and inline handlers removed, every input value blanked. The server stores coarse geo (country, city, region), a salted IP hash and the user agent, never the raw IP. Retention is enforced by a daily purge: recordings default to 30 days (adjustable 1–365), events to 90.

Logged-in Shopify customers pass their id, name and email through the embed; the Unified Segments engine then matches sessions to a synchronised customer record, storefront login or email and tells you how it matched. Anonymous stays anonymous — unknowns render as “—” or “unknown”, never guessed. If identity resolution fails, the sessions are still shown and the contact columns say so.

A transparent 0–100 score: product page views (up to +30), dwell time (up to +12), event volume (+4 / +8), cart opened (+12), added to cart (+23), checkout started (+30) and known identity (+5); rage clicks subtract in the drawer view. High intent is 60 and above, medium 35–59, low below 35. Every point is shown as a chip on the session.

Recording is on by default with a daily cap of 50 sessions (adjustable 0–1,000) and 30-day retention (1–365 days per store). The switch and the daily limit are set in Comver — Enabled, Daily limit, Save — and retention is a per-store setting enforced by a daily purge; none of it touches the storefront theme.

Behaviour measures the storefront: checkout clicked is the last step it records, so the funnel ends there and it does not attribute revenue. Known customers carry their orders and lifetime value live from Shopify in the session drawer; the revenue Callio brings back is attributed in Callio and on the Customers pipeline, not here.

No. Intent scores, friction detection, funnels, journeys and replay briefs are rule-based. Copilot session summaries and the AI notes on heatmaps and funnels are added on top when the AI provider is configured — and the UI says “Copilot summary unavailable” honestly when it is not, rather than inventing a description.
